Logan Paul’s Big Announcement

Welcome to Created, the newsletter that’s more satisfying than filming the perfect first take. Here’s what we got for you:

MKBHD Stars in Oprah's Special about AI

Oprah Winfrey took on AI in her new Hulu special called AI and the Future of Us.

It featured big names including Sam Altman, Bill Gates, and Marques Brownlee aka MKBHD.

The special was yet another notch in Brownlee’s belt as one of the most powerful people in tech. Not just YouTube.

But it also shed light on 2 things:

1) AI is getting good...scary good.

Brownlee showed how AI can instantly generate videos and voices, making it impossible to tell what’s real versus not.

He compared it to the early days of cars and the internet — initially confusing, with potential for great and terrible outcomes.

Over time, we figured out how to regulate it to make the new tech safe and accessible.

With YouTube recently adding tools to detect AI-generated versions of your videos, it’s clear we’re still in the early innings.

2) AI is way moving faster than we thought.

“The rate of change in the world and the economy from this, we haven’t seen it yet. And just because we haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean we can get complacent,” Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said.

Translation: buckle up.

The barrier to create content is about to be lower than ever. Typing ideas to generate fully-fledged films will soon be reality given how fast AI is moving.

So what's this mean for creators?

In a world where AI helps anyone create on steroids, brand and trust will be even more important.

The creators who have an edge? Those who started before or during this AI boom period we’re in now.

Think about it.

Today, you can watch a creator and get a sense of how much work they put into their video.

Sure, parts may be made with AI: images in their thumbnail, dubbing if they have, or editing with tools like OpusClip.

But fast forward 5 years.

It’ll be harder to know who’s truly behind the videos you’re watching. What’s “real” vs not as Brownlee said. Nevermind all the copying and cloning until regulations kick in.

So building trust will be that much harder. Another reason it’s better to start creating content now.

Logan Paul, MrBeast, and KSI Launch Lunchables Competitor

Logan Paul, MrBeast, and KSI teamed up to launch Lunchly, their take on Lunchables.

The announcement was first teased on Logan’s Instagram as “the next chapter.”

Each Lunchly box comes with:

Quote: “I think this could be bigger than Prime,” Paul said.

With Lunchly hitting stores at the end of this week, we’ll see if the sales can match the hype especially with some expressing concern over its healthiness.

MrBeast replied: “I think giving them a higher quality version at roughly the same price is a net good imo and why we launched Lunchly. Also as we get economies of scale and can get things cheaper we will be only improving the product more.”
